Buri Ram Muay Thai Event Presented by Nak Muay Foundation, July 1, 2023
On July 1 & 2 2023, Nak Muay Foundation Sponsored a our second community show in rural Buri Ram Thailand. The event was organized by Francis of Wor Watthana Muay Thai Orphange. This woman is such an inspiration to us. We seen her life first hand and sleep doesn’t come easy, she is working around the clock taking care of the kids in her sanctuary. From morning food shopping at the local markets, getting them to school, caring for a sick one at the time, running practice, preparing dinner and other activities for the children. Really cant say enough good things about her.
They also have a camp for any Nak Muay who would want to come train and fight alongside the orphanage team in a once in a lifetime experience. Last time we were there a beautiful lighting storm came while training, amazing landscape out in the country to train in.
Community Enrichment Where it Matters Most
Saturday July 1 consisted about 115 Muay Thai Bouts in the town of Mueang Buriram - Lampuk, in Isan Province Thailand; approx 5.5 hours drive from Bangkok. Isan is known as the poorest province in Thailand, with half of Thailand's eight provinces with chronic poverty were in Isan (Wikipedia). This is why we are proud to use the funds we have raised to give back to this community.

All Aspects of the Sport
Creating a Muay Thai event has a lot of moving parts. At this show there was parking security, food vendors, Sound and music equipment personnel, boxing officials, boxing ring construction workers, live music (Sarama) band, lighting, announcers, etc… All of which was paid from the donations of Nak Muay Foundation
115 bouts in one day, every Athlete, & Official paid, Free for local vendors; supporting the Muay Thai communities livelihood
Thanks to our small amount of donors for believing in our goals. Majority of the funding came from the Point Muay Thai circuit in California and Texas. This event lasted from 9AM till 1AM. Seeing the community and all the family and fans enjoying the bouts cheering on their favorites made all our efforts worth it. The skill level and passion of the athletes in this area is remarkable. They are all trying to make it to fight in the bog stadiums in Bangkok. This is where we can help to make their dreams come true
